The Cub Scout uniform for Tigers and above consists of a shirt, pants/shorts, belt, socks, neckerchief w/slide, and a cap. We refer to this as the Class-A uniform. Tiger, Wolf, and Bear scouts wear the blue shirt while Webelos wear the khaki. Pack 1153 is a "belt up" pack so the boys can wear jeans or shorts (navy or khaki) instead of the official pants to most events. The exception being formal activities like parades, wreath-laying ceremonies, etc. where we need to look our best and show respect. The cap is optional. More details on the uniform can be found at www.scouting.org. Lions (kindergartners) wear a tee shirt rather than the uniforms shown below.

Scouts are expected to purchase their own uniform. Annual dues cover the cost of their new neckerchief and handbook at the end of the year when they move up to the next rank. Visit the Scout Shop to purchase the uniform.

Uniform Components

If you are heading down to buy your Tiger/Wolf/Bear/Webelos Scout's first uniform, you'll need to get the pieces listed below. You only need the tee-shirt for Lion Scouts. The attendants at the shop are quite helpful and should be able to walk you through the process. Last time we checked, the uniform pieces total between $100 and $170 depending on materials and sizes.

  • Shirt - Navy for Tiger, Wolf, and Bear; Khaki for Webelos
  • Pants or Shorts - Navy for Tiger, Wolf, and Bear; Green for Webelos
  • Belt - Navy for Tiger, Wolf, and Bear; Green for Webelos
  • Neckerchief - Rank-specific
  • Neckerchief slide - Rank-specific or custom
  • Cap (optional)
  • Socks (optional)
  • Insignia
    • Den Number Patch
    • Atlanta Area Council Patch
    • Unit Numerals - 1 1 5 3
    • World Crest Patch
    • Shoulder Loops - Webelos only
    • Colors - Webelos only
  • As mentioned earlier, the official shorts/pants are not required. Jeans or navy pants/shorts are fine for most events. Same with the official socks.

See the Insignia document for details on where the patches go.

Class-B Shirts

Scouts will be invited to wear a Class-B uniform for some events. The Class-B uniform is simply jeans or shorts with a scouting t-shirt. Scouts submit designs and vote to choose a winner at the first Pack meeting each year. Annual dues include the shirt for each scout while leaders and parents purchase their own. Non-Pack scouting t-shirts are also acceptable and available at the Scout Shop and elsewhere.

Uniform Closet

We are considering setting up a uniform closet for scouts to get gently worn uniform components instead of purchasing them new. Please speak with a leader if you are interested in contributing or using this service.
